The crossbench and Greens attempted to delay it or have it struck out, but Labor and the Coalition have voted to give police powers to recommend welfare payments be cancelled – before anyone is convicted of a crime. You might not even know about the arrest warrant they use to justify the cancellation.

I don't understand what the government are trying to do with the unconscionable decision to punich welfare recipients for criminal activity they may not even be guilty of. Is this just another race to the bottom between the ALP and LNP in who can demonise welfare recipients more, the same way they did for refugees?
They spent all yesterday wasting parliament time on that horrible One Nation leader's attention seeking stunt. Then we get this bill basically giving carte blanche to punch down on our vulnerable citizens... for what purpose? Aren't they hoop jumping enough for those fat old bastards that rant in the big house?
