Reddit, along with live streaming platform Kick have been added to the government’s social media ban for under-16s after the eSafety Commission said they met the criteria for the age verification scheme.
It’s coming into law on December 10 and will mean that under-16s will not be able to access the messaging board Reddit, Kick or YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Snapchat, TikTok or X

A perfect example of an unworkable brainfart, brought into being by a bunch of ignorant and self-interested politicians. This will be an absolute disaster when all Australians finally realise that they themselves will be affected.
What will happen to YouTube. I watch music videos as a guest. The only thing I've heard is that YouTube will be censored for guests. I don't want a YouTube account, so all I'll get is wiggles videos. Great work, Inman Grant. I think you'll last long enough in your job to control access to porn sites.
